"We are here today to honour Ray Cribbin for the contribution of Ray and his family to our club.

So a very special welcome to our guest of honour Ray, Jackie, Keith, Paul & Rachel.

I would also like to welcome Tommy Grifferty our Club President, Dick Flanagan our Vice President, Colm Farrell, Kildare County Board Vice-Chairman, club executive members, our longstanding club sponsor, the senior panel and the many club members and supporters here today.

Thank you to everyone for coming to support the team this afternoon and congrats to Paddy, Peter, Frank and the panel on another great win. As always Donal Hurley has the pitches in immaculate condition. Well done again Donal.

Some of you here today may not be aware that the Cribbin family were active members of JTB GAA long before such familiar names as the Doran’s, the Flanagan’s, the Farrell's, the Mc Nally’s, the O’Brien's and the O’Donoghue’s still considered to be blow ins 50 years later got involved with JTB GAA. Apologies if I left your family name out.

Ray's father Billy, who provided employment to many people in the area, was first elected to the club executive as far back as 1949 (all of 74 years ago).

Ray followed in his father’s footsteps and fulfilled the roles of Vice Chairman and Chairman during the period from 1987 to 1998.

Followed by a very active involvement in both the camogie and ladies football clubs.

Hopefully the next generation can continue the Cribbin tradition and play a role in the club executive.

Ray & Jackie got to experience not one, not two but all three of their children wearing the Kildare jersey with pride throughout Ireland. A phenomenal and immensely proud achievement for both Ray and Jackie.

It is a great honour for me as Chairperson to bestow the position of Honorary Vice President to Ray Cribbin.

Congratulations Ray and thank you again for your immense contribution to Johnstownbridge GAA Club."
